Sifu - Reggie Lamborn

Sifu Reggie Diaz Lamborn a second generation Filipino American and a Fresno native with humble beginnings growing up in the Lowell District of downtown Fresno. Sifu, his older brother Ronnie and younger brother Vinnie began learning Kung Fu from Sigung Cho and progressed through the Shaolin Long Fist, Hung Gar, Northern Shaolin and Seven Star Praying Mantis styles. Sifu Reggie started training in Long Fist Kung Fu in 1992 at the age of 11 with Sigung John Cho at the John Cho’s Kung Fu School location located across form the VA Hospital. Sifu Reggie has competed and placed in many local tournaments and international tournaments in divisions such as Northern Hand forms, short weapons, long weapons, 2 person weapons, point sparing and continuous sparing with the loving support of Sifu’s Mother Virginia Diaz Guerrero and Father Francisco Guerrero. Sifu Reggie was one of the first students along Dr. Douglas Owyang to obtain black belt in 1999. In 2005, Sifu enlisted in the California Air National Guard as a medic and surgical technician serving for 9 years at Fresno’s 144th Fighter Wing. After his honorable discharge Sifu then decided to pursue a nursing degree first attaining an Associate degree in nursing then his bachelor’s Science in Nursing. Sifu Reggie has been married to his wonderful wife Liza since 2009 and have two loving boys, Mason, and Nolan.

 

Sihing - Luan Nguyen

Luan has been training under John Cho from John Cho Kung Fu School since 2004 at the age of 12. after 9 years of training he finally achieve his black belt in 2013. Luan comes from a Vietnamese family and traditions are very similar to Chinese culture. Celebrating Chinese/Vietnamese New Years was a strong yearly tradition that made being apart of a Kung Fu school even more special. Lion dancing since the age of 13 Luan takes pride in sharing a very special tradition for the community. Performing lion dances for small businesses, weddings, and special events Luan takes pride each performances to provide the best show for those to watch.

After getting married on 2014 and now with 3 kids. Luan now shares his love of Kung Fu and Lion Dancing to his kids. After the retirement of Sigung John Cho someone had to continue the art with Reggie Lamborn. His daughter currently practices in the kids class.

Luan owns a detailing business Curbside Detail and uses his training from Kung Fu to improve his business everyday and over come many challenges.
