About Us

Our History

Established in 2022.

Long Fist Kung Fu Association had their soft opening on January 4th of 2022. After a month of bringing in new students and finishing up the school. Long Fist had their grand opening on the first day of Chinese New year’s on Tuesday February 1st.  Just another reason to celebrate new beginnings. The memories and even some mementos are carried with us and displayed to remind us of where our Kung Fu journey started and how it has led us to the present location looking toward the future. What started as a childhood interest fuel by Jackie Chan movies has turned into a Kung Fu lifestyle.

We are currently the only traditional Kung Fu School here in the Central Valley.

Our style of Kung Fu has a strong Shaolin influence and emphasize fully extended kicks and striking techniques, and by appearance would be considered a long-range fighting system.  Shaolin Long Fist uses large, extended, circular movements to improve overall body mobility in the muscles, tendons, and joints.  Advanced Long Fist techniques include Qin Na or joint-locking techniques and throws and takedowns. Advanced students also have the opportunity to learn an additional style of Kung Fu like Seven Star Praying Mantis, Hung Gar or Northern Shaolin.

Coming from John Cho Kung Fu School.

After over 50 years of Kung Fu training and instruction Sigung John Cho retired in December of 2021. His students are making sure that the art continues for many more generations. Sifu Reggie started training at John Cho’s Kung Fu School in 1992 at the age of 11 and Sihing Luan since 2004 at the age of 12 combined they have over 50 years of Kung Fu experience. Sifu Reggie along with Sihing Luan felt it imperative to provide the same life changing, character and confidence building instruction that training in Kung Fu has provided for them growing up to their children and future students. No matter the age of a beginning Kung Fu practitioner the benefits are tremendous. Although, the Kung Fu school located at Fresno Street and Clinton Avenue had been opened for over thirty years Sifu and Sihing decided an updated location would benefit the students much more than with staying there.
